It can be hard being a teen.

I specialize in providing a supportive and understanding space for teenagers to navigate the challenges of adolescence.

Adolescence is a unique and transformative phase of life filled with excitement, uncertainty, and change. Through a blend of empathetic listening, validation, evidence-based interventions, and a deep understanding of the teenage experience, I work with adolescents to explore their thoughts, emotions, and concerns.

My goal is to empower teenagers to build resilience, enhance self-esteem, and develop effective coping mechanisms for the myriad of challenges they may encounter.

Together, we address issues such as identity development, peer relationships, academic stress, and emotional well-being. I also work with teens on issues related to mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, self-esteem, body image and eating disorders, family relationships, self harm, and suicidality and ideation.

My Approach:

My approach to therapy with teens varies depending on personality, reasoning for being in therapy, their personal goals, past experiences with therapy, and so much more. I am dedicated to and truly enjoy helping teenagers navigate this crucial phase of life with confidence and a sense of self-discovery.

I use DBT techniques to help teenagers meet their goals by first increasing mindfulness around their thoughts, emotions, urges, and behaviors. With this awareness comes the ability to insert pauses to avoid getting lost in the moment, and ultimately proceed in accordance to their personal goals and values. I prioritize teaching tangible skills to help teenagers tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and communicate more effectively with those around them.

For Parents

I also specialize in supporting parents through the journey of raising teenagers. If you are newly experiencing challenges, or feel like you have seemingly tried everything, then you have come to the right place!

I integrate elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into our sessions to help empower parents with practical skills to navigate the complexities of parenthood and foster balanced and effective approaches to communication and problem-solving. Together, we explore mindful parenting strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and interpersonal effectiveness to enhance the parent-child relationship. By incorporating DBT, I provide parents with tools to navigate challenging moments with compassion and understanding, promoting a harmonious family environment.
